I love the word devotion. “To dedicate by a vow, sacrifice oneself, promise solemnly.”
This post came at a good time. I usually sail on Sundays. The races take up the whole day. I love it and it makes my soul come alive but my conscience kept waking me up last night because I know I have to focus on writing today.
I wouldn’t call sailing a superficial interest but an example of making sacrifices. “I want it all!”
There are definitely interests and passions that can play a deeper role in our life. That bring joy and satisfaction and remind us that life is worth living. Then there is the path. Which can often have an incredibly different tone and feeling. Whereby you need to be dedicated to it in a devoted way. So it’s cool to know that the word devotion struck. It definitely helps organise and prioritise a life worth living.
