The DNA results are in. Envelope please. (Drumroll). "Misty Bledsoe, in the matter of Content Creator vs. Not a Content Creator, you are.... NOT a content creator!"
Wow. This perfectly articulated something I've been trying to untangle in my chaotic brain for years, which in turn has created an immediate shift in mindset. Like a little-bitty-lobotomy. Thank you for making sense of this for me Joel.
This is a remarkable piece. I feel like I have been on this hamster wheel of trying to be a "content creator" but in actuality I just want to create content...to share a window into what I love and enjoy, and who I aspire to be. this was fantastic. Still trying to figure out what my career archetype is, I think I am a bit all over the place.
I used to hate the idea of posting on social media to advertise my work. It felt like a side issue that overwhelmed my multipassionate mind. Now I'm getting intrigued by the idea of posting on X as the foundation of my work, as it allows me to equate the thing I'm researching with the thing I'm posting, progress one little step day by day and be flexible in a way writing larger content formats don't allow, meaning, I can focus on the journey, instead of overwhelming myself with the completion of long projects. That doesn't mean I wouldn't create something bigger than an X post; rather, it means that they wouldn't have to be that separate, if that makes sense.

What would be your take on value creation vs. content creation?
Just have a break from an other SM than Substack, and this explains a lot why I need that break. Without me knowing that this is why. Thank you.

I finally found someone talking about this. This is so important to understand as an artist. Thank you, very nice subs. Love it!
Not a content creator, not a copywriter, always a writer.
